Q: What COVID-19 protocols and capacity limites will be in place?

A: #KingstonRibfest will follow all Public Health and City COVID protocols in place at the time of th event. Stay tuned for more details.

Q: How does the sampling work?

A: To sample you must purchase a wristband / souvenir sample cup for $8. The sample cup is 16oz and can be used, long with your wristband, for the entire weekend. Sample tokens cost $3 each and generally, a 6oz sample costs 1 token and a 16oz cup cost 3 tokens. Some higher alcohol or specialty products may cost more.

Q: Are people under 19 allowed in?

A: Because the event involves alcohol, people under the age of 19 will be admitted only if they are accompanied by an adult - ie. their parents, not their 20 year old friend.

Q: What does the food cost?

A: There is a variety of food to purchase. The main item of course is ribs and chicken. Prices range from $12 for a pulled pork sandwich to $30 for a full rack. We also have a variety of other food options like bbq'd corn on the cob, tornado potato, mini-donuts and colossal onion.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: This year, we will be accepting cash, debit and credit for alcohol token purchases. Many of the food vendors have credit and debit in addition to accepting cash. There is also an ATM on-site.

Q: Can we bring our dog / pet into the event?

A: Yes. However, the event is very crowded and also involves food so it is suggested to please leave your pets at home. All animals must be on leash and well behaved and security has the right to ask you to leave if your pet is being disruptive.

Q: Can I smoke at Ribfest?

A: The Smoke Free Ontario Act, requires that the entire Ribfest site be smoke free. This includes cigarettes, vaping and cannabis. You are welcome to step outside the fenced area to smoke.

Q: Where can I park?

A: There is parking on-site but the best bet is either cab or public transit. This will avoid any chance of drinking and driving.

Q: How many different beers will there be to sample?

A: There are 16 breweries with 40-50 different brands available for sampling.

Q: Is there anything other than beer?

A: Yes, there are several vendors sampling cider and coolers as well as non-alcoholic drinks - water, pop and lemonade.

Q: Is the event wheelchair accessible?

A: Yes.

Q: What happens if it rains?

A: The event goes rain or shine so if there is the potential for rain, you may want to bring an umbrella. There will also be a large, 40'x120' tent set-up in the middle of the space to protect against rain or sun.

Q: What do the kids activities cost?

A: Each play is one ticket. Tickets cost - 1 for $3.50, 4 for $12, 10 for $24 or an all day wristband for $24. If you return the next day still wearing the wristband, you get a new one for half price.
